Apartments

Floors 11-40 will be 1BR (1 Bedroom) – 4BR (4 Bedroom) apartments. All of the apartments will be 6 meters in width therefore leaving minimal room for the elevator and hallway. Each unit will have a communications closet, and the apartment will provide for a network server which will run K: Networks on the server. This will allow the RJ45 lines in the apartments to run to their respective server. The tenant will also be able to set up a SSID for their wireless network, and configure everything they will need. This server will then connect to the WAN which will be a RJ45 fiber optic line. This will mean that there will be no need for a modem.

All apartments will have a kitchen, a living room, and at least 1 lavatory. 1BR and 2BR apartments will have 1 bathroom, and 3BR and 4BR apartments will have 2 bathrooms. The perimeter walls will be intended for the living room, and bedrooms to provide light into the most important rooms. The windows will be one way. The tenant will be able to look out, but anyone across the street won’t be able to look in. The bathroom, communications closet, kitchen and lavatory will be set in the interior wall – therefore allowing for those less important rooms with artificial lighting only. This will all be designed to make the most of the space.

All apartments will have HAI panels in every room. This panel will control lighting, and temperature. The HAI panel will also support the national standard for alarm systems if that is something the tenant will wish to use. The HAI panels will also setup credentials for administrator, and users. The owner profile can only be changed by the owner. The administrator of the apartment will be the head of the household, and will be responsible for adding more family members, and authenticating them to certain resources (such as the safe).

For electricity, each unit will have a battery bank within the communications closet. This bank will provide a day or two of service if there is a temporary grid outage. When the electrical network comes back online, then the battery bank will refill itself. There will be electrical outlets throughout the apartment to assure that there is enough outlets for the needs of a modern day household.

In the kitchen, there is a clothes washer/dryer combination. This was chosen instead of a dishwasher – while convenient is not ideal when space is limited. It will be recommended that the laundry is done at night since it will take a little longer to dry the clothes. Capita Tower will push for free laundry services, but the machines will be able to support contactless payments if the need to charge for laundry becomes apparent.

Each bedroom will have a closet, and a safe. The safe will use the ID card to keep the safe secured. The apartment management will have key access to the safe, but will not enter the safe, and instead clean out the safe when the tenant moves, or open it if there is an issue. The bedroom will be large enough to support a full size bed, and a corner desk or two. In an ideal situation, every child member of the household will have their own bedroom. Resetting the safe will be done through the HAI panel of the apartments.

The tenant is responsible for Internet, Telephone, Television, and Trash services. For Internet, they can choose from an available ISP, but Satellite Internet Service is not available for apartment buildings. Telephone likewise will be through the available options. Since Capita Tower will be brand new, and with a fiber optic backbone – television will be plugged into an RJ45 line, and network channels are free. The tenant is responsible for any other channels. For trash, the tenant will buy trash bags in the Food Plus store, and that will pay their trash bag fee.
